We are just the lucky recipients of his little gift of beauty, should we be aware enough to observe it. It is the assault on his habitat by us that is unconscionable. Maybe if more people took the time to listen to mockingbirds...killing Motherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07029992871936764888noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2584734024537154964.post-2084911128530551552011-10-20T12:35:45.539-04:002011-10-20T12:35:45.539-04:00Often when I'm walking outside and being treat...Often when I'm walking outside and being treated to a mockingbird's amazing song, I too feel I'm the only human who's noticed. Here's a little bird singing its heart out and people aren't looking up -- most either have earbuds in, or are looking at their cellphones/texting.

THere was a time too when I wasn't in touch with my surroundings. I think as I've come to understand that nature is threatened and may not outlast our assault on her, I've spent more time focusing on her fragile beauty.

By the way, that's a great photo. If he survives the cold, he will have the hunting season to contend with in the spring. I hope they stay here, on this land that they and I belong to, where they will be safe.

Me, too, killingMother.

I stopped, today, on the sidewalk, and listened to a mockingbird on a telephone wire sing it's song . The beauty of it transcended everything.

I'm the only human that noticed, I'm sure.tsisageyanoreply@blogger.com
